How to Design Your Own Tattoo

The meaning and significance of tattoos vary from person to person. For many, tattoos are just a fashion statement helping them to stand out in the crowd; while, there are others who decide of getting themselves pierced in an attempt to try out something different. Tattoos also hold a prior place on the vacation-to-do list as well.

However, for you and me, tattoos are much more than trending fashion statements. Tattoos for us define personalities, they send out an affirmative message to the world, they are a glimpse of our creativity and so on and so forth. So, when tattoos play such a significant role in our lives, why to imprint someone else’s idea on your body and repent it later in life. How about designing your own tattoos and making it a unique addition to your glam look?

Here are some effective ideas of customizing your own tattoos. So, just take a glance on these and go ahead in making a magnificent piece of art.

Step 1: Figure out why you want to get a tattoo in the first place:

As mentioned, tattoos can denote a number of aspects of our lives. It may be a constant reminder of working hard to get closer to our goals. It can be a part of our remembrance, our principles of life, a message for loved ones or anything under the sky. So, the first task in hand is to learn why exactly you need a tattoo for.

Step 2: Jot down your ideas on a paper:

Once you have a vague idea of how and to what you want to relate the tattoo with, write it down on a paper. Do not restrict yourself now. Let your ideas and thoughts flow as this is very important to get a tattoo design of your choice. As you put everything on paper, you will be in a better position to slowly sketch and carve out a pattern for yourself.

Step 3: Perfect location for a perfect look:

Once you have a definite idea, you need to decide on which part of the body the design will look the best. This depends on the size of your tattoo design and the relative meaning it carries. Don’t forget to visualize yourself with the tattoo before finalizing. If you can fall in love with this virtual version of yourself, just go ahead and get that design imprinted.

Step 4: The final step:

Now that you know where and how you want your tattoo to be, you just need to put every single piece of idea on a paper. This does not mean that only people good with sketches can customize their designs. If you are not that good, you can just sketch a few bits and write down the rest. Tattoo artists will definitely help you get the pattern you so wanted.

These were four very simple and effective steps of designing a symbolic and meaningful tattoo just for you. One last piece of advice for you from my side is that, never be in haste while designing a beautiful tattoo for yourself. All good things come at the right time. So, give yourself sufficient time, be relaxed and gift yourself a masterpiece that you will cherish for a life time.
